Roadrunners Win NWAC Volleyball South Regional; Elite 8 Up Next

ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton outlasted Yakima Valley to win 3-2 in the NWAC Volleyball Championship South Regional Sunday and advanced to the Elite 8 next Friday at Pierce College in Lakewood, Wash.

The Roadrunners (33-0) jumped out to a two set lead with set wins of 27-25 and 25-23, but Yakima battled back to win the next two sets 26-24 and 25-15. Linn-Benton jumped out to an early lead in set five and hung on to win the match 15-10.

Maddy Hellem and Brooke Rogers led the Roadrunners' offensive attack with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Meah Carley recorded 24 assists and Avery Hughes added 23 assists. 

The Roadrunners will play the West Regional #2 seed Skagit Valley Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Pierce College.

Yakima Valley defeated Edmonds 3-2 in the final match of the Regional, and will also advance to the Elite 8 as the #2 seed from the South Regional.
