Roadrunners Down Saints, Improve to 26-0

ALBANY, OREGON - Linn-Benton Volleyball finished their 4 game home stand with a win against Mt. Hood Community College led by Freshman Brooklyn Willard and Sophomore Brooke Rogers combining for 21 kills on Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Linn-Benton improves to 11-0 at the top of the conference and 26-0 overall. Mt. Hood moves to 3-8 in conference play and 11-12 overall. 

The Beaks took care of business winning the match 3-1. Linn-Benton came out hot, quickly taking the first 2 sets 25-14 and 25-17. Mt. Hood showcased their resilience after starting the 3rd set down 0-4 they came back, took the lead and ultimately won the set 25-22 in an exciting battle. The fourth set looked to be heading in the same direction coming to an 8-8 tie before the Roadrunners scored 4 straight and did not look back, winning 25-14.

The freshmen talent shined for LBCC as Libero Kinsey Brelage collected 29 digs tying her season high set only 2 games before, along with Setter Meah Carley and Outside Hitter Desiree Tupua tallying 3 Service Aces each.

 

The Roadrunners will head south for their next game to face the Riverhawks at Umpqua Community College on Friday Oct. 20. The match is set to start at 6 p.m.
