Roadrunners Take Down Storm

ALBANY, Oregon – The Linn-Benton Volleyball team defeated Chemeketa Community College in 4 sets on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The Roadrunners improved to 12-0 on the season, and 2-0 in the NWAC South Region.

The Storm fell to 0-2 on the season, and 0-2 in the NWAC South Region.

It wasn't much of a contest for the first two sets which saw the Roadrunners take advantage of many unforced Chemeketa errors. The Roadrunners took the first set 25-13, and the second set 25-16.

Late in the third set the Roadrunners had a 19-12 lead and looked to be headed for another 3 set sweep. The Storm were able to dig deep, and rally back taking a 23-22 lead, and eventually winning the set on a Rilea Mills Kill. Mills finished the match with a match high 11 kills.

The Roadrunners responded right back in the fourth set, jumping out to a 19-9 lead, and winning the set 25-15. Roadrunners Kennedy Kantola had a team high 10 kills. Roadrunners Savannah Hutchins and Zaley Bennet combined for 42 assists.

Next up, the Roadrunners travel to Columbia Basin Community College for a three game tournament on Saturday, Sept. 17. First up they'll take on Bellevue Community College in a rematch from earlier in the season, which the Roadrunners won 3-0.
