Roadrunners Down Cougars

ALBANY, Oregon – The Linn-Benton Volleyball team defeated Clackamas Community College on Friday, Sept. 9 

The Roadrunners took out the Cougars in straight sets on Friday, 25-17, 25-10, 25-15.  Linn-Benton improved to 11-0 on the season, and 2-0 in the NWAC South Region. The Cougars fell to 1-5 on the season, and 0-2 in the NWAC South Region. 

It was a tough challenge for the Cougars who went up against a Roadrunners team that sat at third in total kills prior to Friday night's match. The Roadrunners showed why with an impressive 43 kills, on a .418 hitting percentage. Roadrunners Taya Manibusan led the hitting brigade with 13 kills on 18 attempts (.667). Teammate Eva Buford followed with 8 kills on 13 attempts(.462). 

"I think we worked really well as a team, and just using the block," Buford said. 

Roadrunners Savannah Hutchins finished with 22 assists, moving her season total to 208, good enough for fifth in the NWAC. 

It's a quick turn around for the Roadrunners, who take on Chemeketa Community College on Saturday, Sept. 10. First Serve is set for 2:00 p.m. 

"Me and Taya will be making pancakes tonight," Buford said.  

"I'm going to make bacon," Hutchins said.
