Roadrunners Take Down Tritons

ALBANY, OR – The Linn-Benton Volleyball team defeated Edmonds Community College 3-0 on Tuesday, August 31. The Roadrunners improved to 6-0 on the year, and the Tritons fell to 2-4 on the year.

The Roadrunners, once again, got off to a hot start jumping out to a 12-5 lead in the first set. The Roadrunners would go on to win both the first set and second set 25-14 respectively.

The Tritons had few answers for the Roadrunners high-flying hitters who continued to mash the ball. The Beaks finished the game with 37 kills on 101 total attempts(.208%).

In the third set the Tritons found more of a footing and kept their deficit to 4 for most of the set. Late in the third set, the Tritons threatened to make a big run by scoring 3 consecutive points, making it a 21-24 match. Roadrunners Olivia Hisaw put the rally to an end with a well placed kill to the back right corner. The Roadrunners have yet to drop a set on the year.

Next up the Roadrunners travel north to Seattle, to Highline Community College for a two game tournament, on Friday Sept. 2 and Saturday Sept. 3. The Roadrunners will take on Lower Columbia Community College first. The Red Devils are 5-0 on the year, and have defeated four other NWAC South Region teams this year. The Roadrunners defeated the Red Devils last year in straight sets.

"I'm excited for the future, and I feel like we are learning so much within each other, that helps us on the court." Roadrunners Freshman Brooke Rogers said.
