LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Eva Buford had 19 kills to lead Linn-Benton past Bellevue 3-1 in the NWAC Volleyball Championships Elite Eight Friday afternoon at Pierce College.
The Roadrunners (29-2) will play Edmonds (24-8) Saturday at 9 am in a quarterfinal match of the double-elimination Championship.
Buford hit .581 for the match and also had three digs and a block. South Region Most Valuable Player Shalyn Gray and 1st Team selection Alicia Vandervoort-Walters added 11 and 10 kills, respectively for the Roadrunners. Gray also posted 13 digs for the match.
Savannah Hutchins recorded 34 assists and six digs and 2nd Team All South Region selection Sydnie Johnson added 21 assists and seven digs for the Roadrunners. Defensively 1st Team All South Region selection Jade Hayes led Linn-Benton with 19 digs.
Edmonds defeated Whatcom 3-0 in the first match of the Championship Friday at 9 am. The Roadrunners defeated Edmonds 3-1 on September 1 in the third match of the season.
