ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton battled back from a 0-2 set deficit to defeat Tacaoma 3-2 in Round One of the NWAC Volleyball Championship South Regional in Albany.
Set scores were 21-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-23 and 15-6.
The Roadrunners (27-2) advance to a Round Two matchup at 10 am Sunday with #3 seed Skagit Valley (21-3), a 3-2 winner over #2 Walla Walla earlier Saturday.
Shalyn Gray led Linn-Benton with 12 kills and Shelbey Nichol and Eva Buford added 11 kills apiece. Sydnie Johnson had 27 assists for the match.
Jade Hayes recorded 26 digs for the match and Taya Manibusan added 12 digs.
Tacoma plays Walla Walla Saturday at 6 pm in an elimination match.
