ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton battled throughtout a close fourth quarter before bowing to Portland 72-65 in NWAC South Region women's basketball action Saturday afternoon.
The Roadrunners (14-7, 6-5) tied the game at 60-60 with 5:46 remaining on a layup by Hallie Romig. But Portland (18-5, 8-5) outscored Linn-Benton 12-5 in the final five minutes.
Natalia McBride led the Roadrunners with 25 points and seven rebounds while Brooklynn Walters and Hannah Berschauer added 11 points and 10 points, respectively. Linn-Benton forced 18 Panther turnovers and outrebounded Portland 36-33.
The Roadrunners next travel to Clark on Wednesday.
