ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton managed just 22% field goal shooting en route to a 62-43 loss to Umpqua in the NWAC South Region women's basketball opener Wednesday night.
The Roadrunners (8-3, 0-1 in NWAC South Region) managed just 3-20 (15%) from behind the three-point line. Linn-Benton trailed just 17-12 after one quarter, but the Riverhawks outscored the Roadrunners 21-11 in the second quarter to open up a 38-23 halftime lead.
Natalia McBride led the Roadrunners with 10 points and Muriel Jones-Hoisington added nine points, seven rebounds and four steals. Both struggled from the cold shooting night, going a combined 6-for-28 from the floor.
Linn-Benton has a bye Saturday and will next travel to Southwestern Oregon on Wednesday.
