ALBANY, Ore. — Muriel Jones-Hoisington scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Linn-Benton past Columbia Basin 69-61 in non-Conference NWAC women's basketball action Thursday afternoon.
The Roadrunners (8-2) held the lead for all but about one and a half minutes near the end of the first quarter when Columbia Basin went up by one point. Linn-Benton held the Hawks to just six second quarter points to open up a 34-21 halftime lead.
Natalia McBride had 16 points and eight rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting for the Roadrunners and Hallie Romig added 14 points and eight rebounds. Linn-Benton outrebounded Columbia Basin 48-35 and held the Hawks to 35% shooting from the field.
Linn-Benton is off until the NWAC South Region opener January 3rd againts Umpqua.
