Roadrunners Top Tacoma, Drop First Game to Green River

TACOMA, Wash. - Linn-Benton dropped its first game of the season, a 59-52 loss to last year's NWAC runner up Green River, Friday night at Tacoma Community College.
The Roadrunners (6-1) rebounded the next afternoon to defeat host Tacoma 70-51.
Against Green River, the Roadrunners suffered a second quarter drought, scoring just six points on 3-of-13 shooting from the floor, and trailed 29-22 at halftime. That deficit proved to be the final margin as Linn-Benton matched Green River point-for-point the other three quarters. Betty Ann Wilson led the Roadrunners with 12 points and eight rebounds against the Gators, while Cienna Hartle added 11 points.
In Saturday's matchup against Tacoma, Muriel Jones-Hoisington led the Roadrunners with 21 points, five rebounds and four steals. Linn-Benton outrebounded Tacoma 44-26 and Wilson again led the Roadrunners with nine rebounds.
Linn-Benton next travels to the NWAC Crossover at Lane this Friday and Saturday to square off against Walla Walla and Whatcom, respetively.
