Linn-Benton Women Fall to Clackamas

ALBANY, Oregon – The Linn-Benton Women's Basketball team lost to Clackamas Community College 87-51 on Wednesday, Feb. 23. 

The Roadrunners fell to 14-8 on the season, and 6-6 in the NWAC South Region. The Clackamas Cougars improved to 21-2 on the season, and 11-1 in the NWAC South Region. 

The Cougars entered the game ranked third in the newest NWAC coaches poll and on a four game win streak. Clackamas came out swinging in the first half, shooting 6-15 from the three-point line and going into halftime up 50-32. 

In the second half the Cougars kept their foot on the gas pedal and didn't allow the Roadrunners back within 15 points. Leading scorer in the NWAC Brooke Bullock, finished the game with a triple double tallying 17 points, 14 assists, and 12 rebounds. Cougars Hemani Kalia finished the game with 17 points and shooting 5-10 from the three-point line. 

Three players led the scoring for the Roadrunners. Brooklynn Hankwitz, Sabrina Albee, and Maddy Ayers all finished the game with 11 points. 

Next up the Roadrunners travel to take on Portland Community College on Saturday, Feb, 27. The matchup features two teams separated by only one game for the fourth seed in the NWAC South Region. The Roadrunners fell to Portland in their first matchup, but can still control their own destiny with a win on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 2:00 at 600 N Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97217.
