Linn-Benton Women Drop Game to Lane

ALBANY, Oregon – The Linn-Benton Women's Basketball team lost to Lane Community College, 101-79, on Wednesday, February 2. 

The Roadrunners drop to 11-5 on the season, and 3-3 in the NWAC South Region. Lane Community College improves to 15-0 on the season, and 5-0 in the NWAC South Region. 

The Roadrunners kept the game close in the first quarter, but the Titans quick paced offense pushed them out to a 16 point lead going into halftime up, 55-39. 

In the second half Linn-Benton came out strong, outscoring the Titans, 21-16 in the third quarter. Although a 29 point fourth quarter from the Titans put the game out of reach for the Roadrunners.

"I'm really pleased with how we competed and, you know, just have to continue to get a little bit better here over the course of the next couple days and play a tough Chemeketa team on Saturday," Head Coach Jerod Gibson said.  

Brooklynn Hankwitz led the Roadrunners in scoring with 23 points and 7 rebounds. This was Hankwitz's second straight game scoring 20+ points. 

Next up the Roadrunners travel to take on Chemeketa Community College on Saturday, February 5.
