Roadrunners Close Out Non-Conference Schedule at Clackamas Holiday Classic

OREGON CITY, Ore. — Linn-Benton men's basketball dropped three close games at the Clackamas Holiday Classic December 28-30 to close out its non-Conference schedule.

The Roadrunners (6-6) opened with a 86-84 loss to Edmonds in which Linn-Benton was held scoreless the final 2:15 of the game. Cade Smith led the Roadrunners with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while TJ Zimmermann and Liam Spencer added 21 and 20 points, respectively. Zimmermann also collected a game-high 13 rebounds.

On day two, the Roadrunners squared off against Highline and bowed to the Thunderbirds 103-91. Davion Burdette had 24 points, five rebounds and four assists for Linn-Benton. Zimmermann added 20 points and nine rebounds.

In the final day versus Green River, the Roadrunners mounted a late second half run to cut the Gators' lead to nine at 87-78 with just over two minutes remaining, but could not overcome an earlier deficit and lost 89-79. Zimmermann again led the Roadrunners with 24 points and ten rebounds, while Spencer added 20 points and five rebounds.

Linn-Benton opens up NWAC South Region play Wednesday as it hosts Umpqua with the women tipping off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men and 7:30 p.m.
