Yakima Crossover Recap

YAKIMA, Wash. - Linn-Benton dropped games to Yakima Valley and Peninsula before rebounding to top Tacoma in the final day of the Yakima Valley men's basketball NWAC Crossover Tournament.

The Roadrunners (2-5) lost to Yakima 79-99 and Peninsula 90-104 and beat Tacoma 89-85.

Linn-Benton next  travels to the Clackamas Tournament December 28-30.

YAKIMA 99, LINN-BENTON 79

Kye Blaser scored 24 points on 9-for-17 shooting to lead the Roadrunners. Tyson Parker and Ayden Foster scored 13 and 12 points, respectively. Foster also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. 

Yakima shot a blazing 57% from the field and also forced 17 Roadrunner turnovers.

PENINSULA 104, LINN-BENTON 90

Kye Blaser scored 29 points and Fred Harding IV scored 26 points to lead the Roadrunners. Blaser was 9-for-13 from the floor and Harding made 10-of-18 field goal attempts to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds. 

LINN-BENTON 89, TACOMA 85

Tyson Parker scored 21 points to lead six Roadrunners scoring in double figures. Parker also made 11-of-17 free throws, grabbed seven rebounds and had four assists.

Five other Linn-Benton players scored in double figures: Kye Blaser (15), Ayden Foster (14), Brandon Hopson, Jr., Connor Torell and Gavin Weisweaver (12 each). Foster had a team-high 12 rebounds while Torell added 11 rebounds. 

The Roadrunners held Tacoma to 38% field goal shooting and outrebounded the Titans 44-38.
