Roadrunners Complete Series Sweep Over Umpqua

ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton tallied 17 hits in Saturday's 6-5 and 2-1 doubleheader sweep of Umpqua in NWAC South Region baseball action at Dick McClain Field.

The wins completed the four-game series sweep of the Riverhawks for Linn-Benton (26-6, 22-2 in NWAC South), currently ranked #1 in the NWAC Coaches Poll.

In game one the Roadrunners needed extra innings after giving up a 5-0 lead in the eighth inning. Umpqua scored five runs on three hits and four walks for the inning.

The score remained tied at 5-5 until the bottom of the 11th when Kolten Lindstrom's single scored Kace Naone for the walk off game winner. Ethan Buckley went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Roadrunners.

In game two, Gabe Brabec went the full seven innings to earn the win, giving up just three hits while striking out eight batters. Spencer Sullivan had an RBI double for the Roadrunners.

Linn-Benton next hosts Clackamas on Thursday.
