SALEM, Ore. – An offensive explosion from the Linn-Benton Baseball team including 17 hits and 13 walks powered their double-header sweep of Chemeketa Community College on Thursday, April 4.
The Roadrunners improved to 20-6 on the season, and 16-2 in the NWAC South Region. The Storm moved to 6-15 on the season, and 2-11 in the NWAC South Region
On the mound for game 1 Roadrunner Camden Stephens (3-2) picked up the win going 5 strong innings allowing no earned runs, surrendering four hits, and 1 walk, while striking out 3.
The beaks got off to a quick start on offense pickng up 2 runs in the top halves of the first and second inning. Aidan Dougherty went 3 for 5 with an RBI at the leadoff spot for Linn-Benton. Dougherty is hitting a blistering .353 batting average for the beaks in conference play.
In game two Roadrunners Ever Lamm (4-0) went 6 innings strong allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 4. It was a game of discipline at the plate for Linn-Benton who drew 9 walks against the Storm pitching staff to go along with 8 hits. Sophomore Jordan Hocket went 2 for 5 with an RBI, and two runs scored.
