Chadwick Delivers Walk Off Homer in 12th

ALBANY, Ore. — Evan Chadwick hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to lead Linn-Benton past Mt. Hood in game one of doubleheader sweep Friday afternoon in NWAC South Region play. It was Chadwick's only hit of the game.

The Roadrunners (16-6, 12-2 NWAC South) also topped the Saints 2-1 in the nightcap. 

In game one the Roadrunners let a 2-1 lead slip away when Mt. Hood scored two runs to take the lead 3-2. Kace Naone hit a solo home run to tie the game in the bottom of the eight inning, eventually forcing extra innings.

Mt. Hood scored in the top of the 11th inning but Linn-Benton evened the game in the bottom half at 4-4 when Spencer Sullivan scored on an error.

Russell Holly came in to pitch in the 12th, retiring the three batters he faced, and earned the win for Linn-Benton.

In game two, the Chadwick was 2-for-4 with a double and both Linn-Benton RBIs to lead the Roadrunners to the 2-1 win. Ever Lamm pitched seven inning giving up just two hits and striking out five batters. Brody McMullen earned the save with two hitless innings and two strikeouts.

The Roadrunners travel to Mt. Hood Saturday for the series finale. The doubleheader starts at 1 p.m.
