Ordway's RBI Infield Single Give Beaks Win

ALBANY, Ore. — Cameron Ordway beat out a dribbler back to the pitcher for an infield single that scored Connor Boyd from third, giving Linn-Benton a dramatic 4-3 win over Clark in non-Conference NWAC baseball action Sunday afternoon.

The Roadrunners (4-4, 0-0) led 3-2 after four innings but Clark tied the game in the top of the fifth setting the stage for the dramatic 10th inning finish. Boyd reached on an error with two outs and Jordan Hockett singled to left advancing Boyd to third. Ordway's comebacker to the pitcher was fielded cleanly but he beat out a lazy throw.

Seth Dreeszen recorded the win for the Roadrunners.

With the win, Linn-Benton evened the weekend series with Clark 2-2. In game one of Sunday's doublheader Clark erased an early two run Roadrunner lead and then scored three in the top of the seventh to record a 5-2 win.

On Saturday, the Roadrunners' Ethan Buckley singled home Jake Dodge in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Linn-Bento a 2-1 win in the first game of the doubleheader. In game two, Clark held Linn-Benton scoreless and won 1-0.

Linn-Benton next hosts Mt. Hood Saturday in the NWAC South Region opener for both teams.
