PASCO, Wash. — Linn-Benton won the opening game 6-1 before dropping the nightcap to Columbia Basin 9-2 in non-Conference NWAC baseball action Saturday afternoon.
The Roadrunners (1-1, 0-0) will square off again Sunday with the Hawks for another doubleheader.
In game one, Jake Dodge hit a two-run homerun in the top of the third inning to put the Roadrunners on the scoreboard first.
Dodge had a game-high three RBIs. Jordan Hockett and Ethan Buckley both doubled for the Roadrunners.
Ethan Kleinschmit earned the win for Linn-Benton.
In game two, the Roadrunners had eight hits but left 10 runners on base. Columbia Basin jumped out to a 7-0 lead after six innings. Linn-Benton managed one run in the seventh and eigth innings.
Kellen Segel took the loss for Linn-Benton, going three and two-thirds innings and striking out three batters.
