Roadrunners Shut Down Clackamas

 CLACKAMAS, OR -- The Roadrunners took care of business with a twinbill sweep of Clackamas Community College, and inched closer to first place in the NWAC South Region on Thursday, April27.  

The Roadrunners improved their record to 24-14, and 19-11 in the NWAC South Region. The Cougars fell to 10-28 on the year, and 5-21 in the NWAC South Region. 

In game one, the Roadrunners defeated the Cougars, 6-2. Beaks Chase Reynolds, and Oregon State baseball commit, went 6.1 innings allowing 1 earned, on 6 hits, while striking out 6. 7 different Roadrunners picked up at least one hit, with 5 beaks knocking an RBI. 

In game two, Roadrunners Dylan Rush shoved once again, going 8 innings surrendering 2 earned runs, on 5 hits, while striking out 4. Rush moved to 6-2 on the year, and improved his season ERA to 1.92. Roadrunners Aidan Dougherty improved his hit streak to 10 games, with a 4-4, 2 RBI day at the plate in game two. 

The Roadrunners move within one game of first in the NWAC South Region, after Lane Community College dropped both their games to Southwestern Oregon Community College on Friday, April 28. The Roadrunners secured the NWAC South Region 

Next up the Roadrunners stay home for the finale of their series against Clackamas Community on Saturday, April 29. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Dick McClain field on the Linn-Benton Albany Campus.
