Roadrunners Sweep Twinbill Against Saints

ALBANY, OR – Camden Stephens went 7 innings allowing only 1 run in his first career start for the Roadrunners, and helped the Beaks in their twin bill sweep of Mt.Hood Community College on Friday, April 14. 

The Roadrunners improved to 19-11 on the year, and 14-8 in the NWAC South Region. The Saints drop to 6-18 on the year, and 5-15 in the NWAC South Region. 

The Roadrunners pick up their fourth straight win and move up to sole possession of second place in the NWAC South Region. The beaks have now won 7 of their last 8. 

In game one, the Roadrunners defeated the Saints 2-1. Game one was the Camden Stephens show. In his first career start Stephens went 7 innings, giving up 1 unearned run, on 1 hits, walking 3, while striking out 5. Trey Nelson brought in the two runs, with an RBI-single in the first, and sixth inning. 

"It feels great, just getting out here and competing, glad we got the win," Stephens said. "We just have to keep putting up battles, keep hitting, fielding, and pitching it to stay hot." 

In game two, the Roadrunners defeated the Saints 6-2. Titus Dumitru continued his dominance at the plate going 2 for 4 with an RBI, and a run scored. Since April 8, Dumitru has batted .458 going 11 for 24, bringing his season batting average to .361. Kellen Oakes picked up the win on the mound going 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits, walking 2, while striking out 3. 

Next up the Roadrunners travel to take on Chemeketa Community College, on Saturday, April 14. First pitch is set for 1:00 P.M.
