Roadrunners Sweep Storm in Doubleheader

ALBANY, OR – The Roadrunners pitching staff shuts down Chemeketa Storm and the beaks pick up two much needed wins in NWAC South Region play  on Thursday, April 13. 

The Roadrunners improved to 17-11 on the season, and 12-8 in the NWAC South Region. The Storm dropped to 13-12 on the season, and 10-8 in the NWAC South Region. 

In game one the Roadrunners defeated the Storm 6-3. The beaks offense got to work early picking up 4 runs in the bottom half of the third inning. Roadrunners Titus Dumitru started the scoring affair with an RBI single out to left. Chase Reynolds picked up the win on the mound going 6 innings, giving up 1 earned run, on 3 hits, 4 walks, while striking out 4. 

In game two the Roadrunners defeated the Storm 4-2. Dylan Rush picked up the win going 5 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 3. Dumitru continued his hot streak at the plate, going 3-4 and picking up 3 more RBI's, including a 2-run home run out to left.  Dumitru is now 13 for his last 25 at-bats, good enough for a .520 batting average. 

Next up the Roadrunners stay home to take on Mt. Hood Community College on Friday, April 14. First pitch is set for 1:00 P.M. at Dick McClain field on the Linn-Benton Albany Campus.
