ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton, the number one seed from the South Region, swept Wenatchee (#4 East) 3-0 in the Day One of the NWAC Volleyball Championships South Regional. Set scores were 25-16, 25-9 and 25-10.
The Roadrunners (31-0) now face Edmonds (#3 North) Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Edmonds defeated Centralia (#2 West) 3-1 in Saturday's first match.
Brooklyn Willard led the Linn-Benton attack with 18 kills, and Maddy Hellem added 12 kills to go along with 12 digs. Willard, the South Region MVP, hit .389 for the match.
Kinsey Brelage led the Roadrunners' defense with 17 digs. Avery Hughes posted 23 assists and also contributed 12 digs.
Match Three on Saturday saw Centralia sqaure off against Wenatchee in a loser-out match. Wenatchee won the five-set battle and will await Sunday's loser between Linn-Benton and Edmonds.
