Lane Tops Roadrunners in NWAC South Opener

ALBANY, Ore. — The visiting Lane Titans outlasted Linn-Benton Community College to win the NWAC Southern Region volleyball opener for both teams 3-2.

The Roadrunners won the first set 25-20, but Lane rallied to take sets two and three 25-19 and 25-21, respectively. LBCC regrouped and hung on to win set four 25-21.

In the final set, the Roadrunners battled back to tie the score at 13-13 before Lane closed out the match 15-13.

Ally Tow led the Roadrunners offense with 23 kills, and she also contributed 17 digs. Sydnie Johnson collected 26 assists for the Roadrunners. 

The loss dropped LBCC's record to 11-7 overall and 0-1 in NWAC Southern Region play. Lane improved to 5-8 overall and 1-0 in the NWAC South. 

The Roadrunners next host the NWAC Volleyball Crossover Tournament Friday and Saturday. Friday's matches begin at 12:00 noon and play begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
