Roadrunners Top Edmonds in Home Opener

ALBANY, Ore. — Ally Tow pounded 19 kills and Sydnie Johnson provided 25 assists to lead Linn-Benton Community College past visiting Edmonds 3-2 in non-Conference NWAC volleyball action Wednesday afternoon.

Caithlynn Carrillo recorded 38 digs to go along with three service aces. Tow added 17 digs and a service ace to her afternoon stats while defensively Johnson also contributed 13 digs. Alicia Vandervoort-Walters added nine kills for the Roadrunners and Taylor Tedrow contributed seven. 

The Roadrunners won the first set 25-16 and then alternated set wins with Edmonds before winning 15-5 in the final set.

The win improved LBCC's record to 4-3 on the season. It was the Roadrunners' first match since the NWAC Fall Showcase August 24-25, a tournament that features best of three matches instead of the usual best of five. The Roadrunners went 3-3 during the Showcase event.

LBCC hosts Pacfic University's JV program in the nightcap of today's doubleheader. Match time is 6:30 p.m.
