COOS BAY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton Community College women's basketball team got off to a hot start, but could not maintain the momentum as they dropped a tough road contest at Southwestern Oregon Community College 65-53.
The Roadrunners (14-14, 6-10 NWAC South) took a 12-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but were outscored in the next three quarters. The Lakers (7-20, 3-13 NWAC South) shot 10-33 from beyond the arc, but also held the Roadrunners to just 5-23 from the three point line which proved to be the difference.
Linn-Benton was led in scoring by Natalia McBride with 16 points, while Kylee Baumgartner recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Lakers Helen Wolfe scored 16 points, and was one of four players in double figures for the hosts.
This marked the final game of the 2024-25 season for the women's basketball team.
