Roadrunners Complete OT Comeback Win Against Storm

ALBANY, Ore. - The Linn-Benton women's basketball team overcame a slow first quarter start to defeat Chemeketa Community College 67-63 on Sophomore Day. After trailing 8-20 at the end of the first quarter, the Roadrunners clawed their way back into the contest and allowed just nine fourth quarter points to tie the game and force an overtime period.

 

In overtime the defense remained strong, allowing the Storm just six points while claiming the victory. The Roadrunners (14-12, 7-8 NWAC South) were paced by the 22 points and 11 rebounds of Katelynn Weaver

 

Fellow sophomore Natalia McBride scored seven points, grabbed a team high 12 rebounds and had three blocked shots. Hannah Berschauer had 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

 

The Storm (19-9, 8-7 NWAC South) were led by the duo of Mady Diaz and Ella Holwege who combined for 39 of the teams 63 points, including all seven made 3-point shots in the defeat.

 

The Roadrunners travel to Clark College today, February 24th, for a 5:30 PM showdown. This game was rescheduled due to weather
