ALBANY, Ore. — Despite a strong start, Linn-Benton lost to Lane 93-44 in NWAC South Region women's basketball action Wednesday night.
The Roadrunners (9-5, 1-1 in NWAC South) got 18 points from Katelynn Weaver, but the #1 Titans (15-0, 2-0) blew the game open in the third quarter, holding Linn-Benton to just five points.
Linn-Benton shook off a cold start to fight back to just a 17-15 deficit at the end of one quarter, but Lane outscored the Roadrunners 29-5 in the third quarter.
Besides Weaver, who was 8-for-15 on field goals, the Roadrunners struggled from the floor, shooting just 29% on the night. Lane, by contrast, shot 53% from the floor, including 46% from behind the three point line.
Linn-Benton next travels to Mt. Hood on Saturday.
