ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton needed an overtime period, but the Roadrunners defeated Portland 87-85 in the NWAC South Region men 's basketball opener for both teams.
Linn-Benton (6-8, 1-0) got a game-high 27 points from Liam Spencer, including a clutch three-pointer that sent the game to overtime. He also shot 10-for-15 from the floor.
The Roadrunners also got 18 points and six rebounds from Jackson Oglesby and 14 points amd seven rebounds from Cade Smith.
Linn-Benton next hosts Lane Wednesday night.
