LAKEWOOD, Wash. - Wenatchee Valley held on to beat Linn-Benton Community College 77-76 in the second day of the Pierce College Raider Classic Saturday afternoon.
Wenatchee (6-1) guard Malik Parsons sank a free throw with 0:06 remaining to break the 76-all tie and give the Knights the victory. Parsons led the Knights with 22 points.
The Roadrunners (4-2) got 19 points and seven rebounds from Kadeem Nelson and Kyree Davis contributed 18 points. Both Nelson and Davis were 7-for-12 from the field to lead Linn-Benton, which shot 52% from the field as a team.
Wenatchee escaped with the win despite the Roadrunners outshooting (52% to 48%) and outrebounding (34 to 26) the Knights.
Linn-Benton takes on tournament host Pierce in the final day of the event Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
