ALBANY, Ore. — Linn-Benton rocked Clackamas pitchers for 17 hits in its doubleheader sweep of the Cougars Thursday afternoon. The Roadrunners posted a 10-0 win in game one, followed by a 7-0 shutout in game two.
In game one, Kace Naone and Spencer Sullivan each went 3-for-4 to lead the Roadrunners' offense that tallied a total of 12 hits in the game. Ethan Kleinschmit pitched a one-hit shutout for Linn-Benton and struck out ten batters.
The Roadrunners (10-6, 6-2) scored two runs in the first inning and were quiet until and explosive eight-run fifth innning.
In game two, Aidan Dougherty and Andrew Demianew each blasted solo home runs while Vincent Iwamura went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Gabe Brabec pitched six innings, giving up just one run while striking out ten batters.
Linn-Benton next hosts Southwestern Oregon Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
