Roadrunners Drop Twin Bill at Chemeketa

SALEM, Ore. — Linn-Benton Community College was on the losing end of two one-run games versus Chemeketa in NWAC Southern Region baseball action this afternoon in Salem, where the Storm swept the doubleheader 9-8 and 5-4.

The losses dropped the Roadrunners' record to 16-4 in the NWAC South and 26-9 overall. Chemeketa improved to 10-10 and 23-15 overall.

Linn-Benton remains in first place in the NWAC Southern Region. Mt. Hood, which sits in second place, split its doubleheader today versus Lane. Today's results set up an exciting final two weeks of the regular season. Full NWAC standings can be found here

Both games were tied going into the bottom of the last inning. In game one, Andrew Ishi"i singled home the winning run for the Storm. In game two, a Roadrunner fielding error allowed Ishi"i to score from third base for the win.

Offensively, Dequan Dennis-Lee, Richard Mascarenas and Jacob Melton each had two hits for the Roadrunners in game one. In game two, Maxwell Long went 2-for-2, including a solo home run, and recorded two RBIs for the game.

The Roadrunners head into their bye week and are next inaction Friday, May 10 at Clackamas for a 2:00 p.m. start.
