ALBANY, Ore. — Brock Townsend pitched 6 1/3 innings, striking out five batters and giving up two hits, as Linn-Benton Community College topped Yakima Valley 5-1 in the first of two non-conference NWAC baseball games Saturday afternoon.
The Roadrunners improved to 1-0 and Yakima dropped to 0-1 in the season-opener for both teams.
Offensively for LBCC, Ian McIntrye and JJ Hoover each collected two hits and two RBI's for the game.
