LONGVIEW, Wash. — Tacoma Community College held Linn-Benton scoreless, and hitless, for six innings en route to a 10-1 victory on opening day of the 2019 NWAC Baseball Championships.
Linn-Benton will face Edmonds Friday at 9:35 a.m. in the backside of the tournament bracket. Tacoma advances to face Spokane Friday at 4:35 p.m.
Titans starting pitcher Logan Gerling pitched six hitless innings before Colton Talton blasted a solo home run in the seventh inning, cutting Tacoma's lead to 8-1. Gerling also struck out 13 batters in his 6 1/3 innings of work.
Starter Daniel Ferrario took the loss for the Roadrunners.
