COOS BAY, Ore. — Linn-Benton Community College racked up 26 hits over two games to sweep a double-header versus host Southwestern Oregon Community College Friday afternoon in the NWAC Southern Region opener, 16-0 and 3-2.
The win improved Linn-Benton's record to 12-5 and 2-0 in NWAC Southern Region play.
The Roadrunners posted 17 hits in game one, led by Fridtjof Fremstad and Maxwell Long with three hits apiece. Fremstad also had three RBIs.
Jacob Melton and Marcus Lydon each homered for the Roadrunners and Daniel Ferrario (2-1) earned the win in game one.
In game two, Parker Kuntz belted out three hits and Richared Mascarenas collected two hits for the Roadrunners. Austen Carpenter (3-1) earned the win for Linn-Benton.
The series with SWOCC continues Saturday at Linn-Benton with game one beginning at 1:00 p.m.
